    I worked at Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros

    It's the government so it's fairly stable. Plus the food in the lunchroom is heavily subsidized, so that's really awesome. There are frequently lunch time events, so you can get free food that way to. Oh, and the tuition reimbursement is really good.

    Cons

    As I said, it really depends what department you were in. I was in the ACH department and I thought the management in the group was sort of weak. If you're in research, it can be impossible to get ahead unless you leave to get a Ph.D.
