I have been working at Fidelity Investments full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Overall I think Fidelity is a great company, the fact that its privately own makes it more immune to market volatility and the year-end bonuses have been fairly consistent

    Cons

The promotion process is a complete mystery and it appears to be highly political
Once you reach a certain level (director) within IT at least there are no annual market adjustments, so every year you are in theory making less money. Plus there are no catch-up adjustments.
When applying to a job at the same level the policy is that you cannot get a salary increase, even if the job is vastly different and within a different business unit. Which means overall you are stuck at your current salary unless you look outside the firm
