Great benefits for employees. Salary+Bonus+Annual Profit Share+7% dollar-to-dollar 401k match. Contractors treated well in most groups. (I have been contracting the last few years) Durham NC location is pretty casual. Business casual dress with jeans on Friday. Relationships with management have always been casual side. Some groups work with offshore resources and get to travel to other countries. Some groups are in flexible work arrangement situations. Some people work from home much of the time. Even in other groups, you generally can work from home if needed for personal reasons from time to time.

Base salaries can be very low, especially when you get promoted to the next level. Some groups work in crowded arrangements because leadership will not support any official work from home arrangements. Lack of oversight on Directors and Vice Presidents with direct reports. A bad apple can really tear a department apart. Review process is not individual. People are stack ranked and there are quotas on high ratings. Even if you have 2 star performers, only 1 can receive the most excellent rating. The process is truly not individualized. People provide reviews for employees they have had very little interaction with. Can get very personal. You will have to change departments to earn more money as annual merit increases are often nominal. Your career is in your hands here. You can not depend on any management or HR group to help guide you in advancing your career.

    Advice to Management

Put in place some checks on your management. Too many leaders who are trying to protect themselves and their career and are unwilling to support employees against a terrible "leader". Put a more fair review process in place. Make reviews truly customized to each worker.
