    I worked at Fidelity Investments full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

    It is a very fast pace role with hundreds of phone calls and trade issues need to be addressed on the daily basis. Such environment is good for a entry level individuals who would like to establish his/her career in trading. The team that I worked with are fabulous individuals with great industry knowledge and years of experience.

    Cons

    Since it is family own, you really have to play politics well to survive and move up. There are individuals in the management team that are really not suitable for their roles while others that are really capable got ouster after losing the political fight. Also Fido's salary is kind of lag behind the industry, so do expect getting paid a little less than the peers.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    I used to love this company, until the two round of layoffs in the 07 and 08 where lots good talents were let go, while incompetent few were safe since they know how to kiss up. I eventually decided to move on for better a year later after witness how demoralized the team and the office got....
