I worked at Firestone Complete Auto Care full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Are more professional and formal about the way they do things. If you love turning wrenches, and are fortunate enough to have a store manager that has your back, and doesn't just throw you under the bus this can be the best job you ever had. It all depends how you manage your life outside of work.

    Cons

-The pay, but if you are SELF-MOTIVATED, by that I mean get ASE's , get your own tools, and can keep a job for over a year then you ARE the biggest deciding factor in getting a raise. That's not to say that it will be automatic, you may have to press the issue by threating to look elsewhere for $greener$pasture$ in order to sustain a happy wife and kids (I love using the family guilt trip since I have neither)
-The time, if you manage to work your way up to lead tech you will not have a life outside of firestone but let me tell you I don't know to many guys who never graduated high school but make 50k a year first time I met one I was at firestone.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

You pay the greenhorns well, but after that it just isn't in tune with the rest in the business, lead techs should make (60k+) no work on Sunday's off the bat(have you ever met a real MasterTech). Techs with 4+yrs and 3 ASE's should make $14-16/hr beginners $10-9/hr
