    Current Employee - Financial Advisor

I have been working at First Command full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Great atmosphere depending on what district you are in. Unlimited income, flexible schedule. Get to make a difference in peoples lives. The dynamics of the job can be great. People who make it stay on for a long period of time.

    Cons

Can work long hours, may have to tell people what they don't want to hear, rejection. Sometimes people have unrealistic expectations and they take it hard when you tell them the reality. Not everyone is ready to have a financial advisor in their lives.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Focus more on what younger advisors have to say. The guys on the ground always have a better understanding of the field than those at the top. Marketing consultants should be prior service and should be specific to particular branches.
