    I worked at Foothill-De Anza Community College District (more than 5 years)

    Pros

    - Beautiful campuses (especially Foothill)
    - Some employees are very nice
    - Decent health benefits
    - Wonderful students.
    - Good instructors, for the most part.
    - Good Classified Senate - they're very dedicated and caring.

    Cons

    - Discriminatory employment practices.

    - Bullying is an issue and management does nothing to stop it; instead, they allow bullies to run the show. I'm not sure if they are afraid of the bullies, agree with them, or just don't care.

    - Hard work isn't rewarded, and slackers get away with slacking, as long as they are threatening and "scary" enough to management.

    - Very hard to move up - people tend to stay in the same positions for years

    - With the exception of a few members, the classified union is a joke. Very corrupt, and most employees have no idea how their dues are being (mis)used. They should've kept SEIU or decided to have no union at all.

    - Almost no training or onboarding of new employees; employees are left to navigate the bureaucracy without guidance.

    - Lackadaisical and/or incompetent management.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Start caring about the hard-working employees instead of giving into the lazy bullies. You're losing good people, and it's going to continue to affect the company negatively.
