I worked at Four Communications full-time (More than a year)
Some brilliant people work there. The senior manager seems to care about staff wellbeing, and offer fruit and have a weekly bar on fridays. Most teams like to promote people quickly and there is effort by some practices to integrate and work together
Poor pay. The wages are well below the average for PR and with every promotion there only seems to be a £2 - 3k increase. Different practices have different rules, but working very long hours seems to be the norm and there wasn't very much acknowledgement or praise from managers. Also, staff turnover is quite high, especially in some practices where they'd rather just get rid of people. Internal politics is also a problem with some members of staff acting like complete drama queens and senior managements having favourites. When I was there, the company prioritised someone with very little skill just because of who they were dating.
