    I have been working at Fred's


    The customers and the co-workers are the best thing about my job. Must have a positive attitude everyday. It's a great place to work with the public and meet some very great people.


    Worked a lot of hours but somehow those extra hours goes missing when it's time to be paid. Very low pay. Salary workers doesn't have to clock in or out so it doesn't matter if they work or not but still get paid. Some hourly workers work more than managers and the paychecks don't reflect that. You can't get a sick pay without going to the doctor. NO personal days either. Salary workers schedules the hourly workers around whatever is going on in their own personal with no regards as to what the hourly workers have going on in their personal lives. I mean really you can't afford to pay your loyal workers but you can give poor management bonus checks, the bonuses need to go to the people who really do what needs to be done to in order to keep the store going.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    You really need an open door policy so your employees can have someone to talk too without worrying if they'll be fired. If your employees are happy then they customers will be happy. Give the people who really do the work the bonuses not the store managers or the district managers. Audit the time clock sometime to ensure that your hourly employees are getting paid for the hours worked. Remember employees matter too good workers are the big bonus so make sure they know that they are important too and not just the big bonus checks that you get.
