One of the few jobs that is flexible with classes, so awesome!

Former Employee - Lab Monitor in Winter Park, FL
Former Employee - Lab Monitor in Winter Park, FL

I worked at Full Sail University part-time (more than an year)

You can choose your own hours. There is a minimum amount you have to complete each month, usually it's around 16 hours. Once you're in finals classes you don't need to meet the requirements but only lab monitors in those classes are allowed to open the rooms.
But you can get so much extra time to work on your stuff, it's super helpful if you've got a group project in need of a lot of computers.

You also have the possibility of brushing up your skills in earlier classes, if you help students.

There doesn't seem to be a limit to the amount of Lab Monitors hired so space is cramped, you might end up having to take 0100 or 0500 labs.
There are a few lab monitors that like to max out their work hours (max is 26/h per week) and take most of the ideal times. If there are a few of these lab monitors you also might get stuck doing 0500 labs.

Sometimes security can take half an hour to unlock the door.

    Neutral Outlook
