I worked at GE Global Research full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Any position within the company allows access to a phenomenal breadth of engineering technology and the chance to navigate one's career to one of seven different industrial verticals with opportunities around the world. Working on projects dubbed "the industrial internet" is quite exciting and has huge potential.

    Cons

The Software CoE does not possess the management talent that is a hallmark of GE. Rather, it has management that wish to be on the fast track to success and run a disruptive organization in order to achieve its objectives. The net result is gamesmanship to be a Silicon Valley company with the attendant perks; GEGR will never be a Silicon Valley start-up.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Choose your leaders wisely and remove those that have adversely affected human resource turnover and alienated other GE business partners.
Be more flexible in terms of working agreements with the seven GE verticals.
