I worked at GP Strategies full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

They make it seem like its flexible and a great environment. It is a great place to work if you like the micromanagement. They have a lot of companies they contract with so great way to move around from company to company.

    Cons

The old bait and switch - first the the offer - verbally something else paper something else. Then they took away the benefits as well. Then once you start - I complained about working on site at Cisco - since they wanted to hire more coordinators - that I had free time - they said no - you dont support that program. I quickly realized that they just hire coordinators and justify it with Cisco but we all do about 25% of the work that they are telling Cisco we are doing. They are only out to make money and it's really sad that Cisco believed them over me. I tried to explain to the manager that I can take several of the projects rather than hiring another couple Coordinators. Needless to say I was canned that same week - with some lame excuse that I did not fit in. Really - so I fit in fine when I kept my mouth shut and did nothing for 6 months but soon as I searched for work - I did not fit in. They also dont promote from within. I was hired 2 years after a coordinator that had worked there and made more money and had a higher title. Pretty sad that people are ok with this type of 1980's type of work environment.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Its pretty shady how your company is run in the Silicon Valley and I would really check in to see how your company is now leading the pack or companies stealing from your customers like Cisco, NetApp, Yahoo and many other big names out there.
