    I worked at GameStop part-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

    Working in the video game industry, customers who come in as your regulars will become your friends, stores are small which results in your co-workers becoming your GameStop family.

    Cons

    Experienced harassment from customers on a daily basis as a female employee. District manager would tell you one thing, corporate another. Hours are rough if you are not full time. Unobtainable goals in customer service when company does not give you hours to keep store flowing. Usually relies on store managers to pick up the slack and work 50+ hour weeks because they are paid salary.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    I missed the old GameStop where corporate allowed the stores to run themselves as long as goals were being hit. Really need to step up the quality with refurbished items as it wastes a lot of man hours going through the broken stuff and fixing customer issues. Do not be so stingy with the hours, it will be the downfall of the company. Oh and stop making us get so many surveys a week, unless you want us to put a gun to the customers head.
