    I have been working at Gander Mountain full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

    Very relaxed atmosphere at work, not having to dress to the nines for uniform, very flexible hours, challenging work load for supervisors and management. Fun to work with products that are enjoyed by the staff as well. Lots of opportunity for repeat customers to build relationships with.

    Cons

    Corporate office is very far removed from store operations, unrealistic sales goals for new stores, sales culture needs improvement.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Training should be more structured with much more time given to learn all aspects of job before being let loose. Operations should be more focused on only operations with no pressure to also reach sales goals. All hourly employees should be eligible for commission on commission earning items since most employees float all over.
