    Pros

-Great discount and works across all Gap Inc brands (Gap, Old Navy, Banana Republic etc)

-High energy staff: It makes the work day a lot faster when you're working with fun and energetic people.

-Scheduling: Management, for the most part, is willing to give you the schedule that you request. Whether they cut your hours or not is another issue.

    Cons

-Too much pressure to sell Gap cards; I'm rather tired of hearing "you need to get passed the first 'no'. If the customer does not want the Gap card on first attempt, chances are they aren't going to want it after going down the laundry list of seemingly great "benefits".

-Little room for advancement: if you're interested in moving up in the company, good luck. Management would rather look for outsiders to bring into to fill higher positions than hire within especially if they have employees interested in said positions.

-Lack of training: Plan on trying something new? Look to your peers to train you. Management, apparently, does not believe in training...unless they really like you.

-Pay: Rather typical of retail but the pay can be a lot better than what it is.

    Advice to Management

-Listen to your employees. When they tell you that they're interested in moving up or transitioning into a different position in the store, work with them to make sure that their goals are fulfilled. Provide actual training for those interested in other positions. We can only help each other so much.
