I worked at Georgia Department of Labor full-time for more than a year

    Pros

The three best things about working with the DOL were:

    1. Met a few great people that I still keep in contact with
    2. Paid holidays
    3. Attending a wide range of training classes

    Cons

Everything else. I didn't expect to make a high salary with a state agency but the pay was really low. That would've been ok if there were more advancement opportunities. Also if you going to pay your employees so terribly and freeze wages, at least provide a god work environment. The management was unprofessional, gave preferential treatment to certain employees and allowed those same employees to make false accusations that affected my performance review.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Upper management needs to take a look at how employees are treated throughout the organization. Raise the standard of professional conduct and understand that if you want educated and talented employees that you will be underpaid, give them an encouraging work environment to come to everyday.
