    I have been working at Goken America full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Consistently 40 hours per week of work. No micromanagement. Not terrible if you're a recent college grad.

    Cons

    Zero transparency about expectations, schedule, tools, training, OT, benefits, etc. You can expect nothing but vagueness until you press enough buttons. The 'pay raise' is a joke and doesn't even keep up with inflation, plus you can expect pay to start low (below industry average) and stay low because management is too busy with "important stuff" to bother with addressing pay issues. In fact, there is little communication with management about matters such as promotion, flexibility, family matters/conflicts, etc. If you do anything their main client doesn't like, they will not back you up, you must fend for yourself, unless you can prove that there are regulations that are being broken or you're being treated unfairly. Health benefits are basically one step above catastrophic coverage, expect high deductibles.

    Advice to Management

    Offer incentives to improve employee performance and productivity. The "do a good job or else" approach is not enough to keep talented people on your team. Also, understand your employee's actual work environment and offer pay/benefits that are enough for them to actually stay financially afloat. Negotiate with clients to make sure your employees aren't being subjected to work that is not reasonable or aligned with what they committed to when they were on-boarded. Take into account pay and living costs of the areas where they are deployed and don't blow them off when they present concerns.
