I have been working at Grand Canyon University full-time (More than 5 years)

Work environment, benefits are granted in a reasonable time, schedules are good, and there is room for growth within.

Discrimination policy is not consistent with what actually occurs. The work environment can be hostile at times, with political agendas and conservative opinions. I believe these things can and should be curbed in the office.

    Advice to Management

Some people look into discrimination policies prior to taking a position due to past experiences and take it seriously. You claim to have a non-discrimination policy for sexual orientation, gender, and marital status. You are also a company within a city that has a non-discrimination policy implemented for businesses. You make employees sign this document saying they will abide with the rules and acknowledge them. YET, you do not offer benefits to legal spouses that are of the same-sex. That is discrimination. Fix it. Either admit that you do discriminate and drop the protected statuses, so incoming employees will have transparency and make their decision to take a position knowing the truth - or - live up to your own implemented policy.
