I worked at Groundwater Environmental Services full-time (More than a year)
GES offices in the Marcellus Shale are good places to work if you are amenable to intermittent travel and want to test water quality in a fast paced environment with long hours.
The exemption status of my position (and many like me) was found to be classified wrongly by a department of labor investigation. GES claims it was unintentional, but the fact remains that they saved a significant amount of money by the mistaken classification. Any company that has to have repeated meetings to try to convince employees that working 70+hour weeks without time and a half is a company to steer clear of, but in fairness we did all sign the employment contract and we were informed what our pay schedule would be, just not the ridiculous hours required of us after hire.
Advice to Management
Invest in your employees more, wildly chasing the short term and immediate dollar at the employees expense left all of the workers using all of their time off on interviews with other companies.
