I worked at Guggenheim Partners full-time (more than 5 years)

The business side of Guggenheim is top notch. They are very serious about growing the business and see opportunities to make money when others would not take a chance. Guggenheim Partners is an outstanding investment company.

Guggenheim could become the next Goldman Sachs, if it was not for the IT Department. The review on entitled “Reactionary, chaotic management makes IT unbearable. ” is spot on. IT Management knows how to stretch out projects and make a spectacle out of the smallest of things and go overboard wasting money, only to keep asking for more.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I have never seen such a waste of talent and resources. For example, flying people around for meetings with no agenda what so ever. Going out there way to hire consultants that tell them exactly what the people that work for them have already said. If you are smart and know what you are doing they will put in in the shadows. If not part of the architecture go drinking team, they will never listen to you when they are sober. The worst part is that they reward incompetence with promotions. CIO and his direct "advisors" should leave for wasting corporate funds, replacing full time technical resources with expensive and ineffective contractors, mismanaging networks and security.

Bottom-line if you want to invest your money go with these guys, just buy personal identity thief insurance because your data probably will be compromised.
