I have been working at H&R Block part-time (more than an year)

    Pros

If you're looking for a good part-time, seasonal job, this is a great place to work (even if you don't prepare taxes). It's great for people starting a career. When they discuss team building, they mean it! Management in my district is excellent. The people are wonderful and everyone helps everyone else. They are excellent about ensuring good work/life balance and scheduling flexibility is great. They are proactive about continuing education and ensuring all employees--not just tax preparers-- have lots of opportunities to take online courses to expand their skills--for no charge. I've picked up many new and valuable skills here. It's a great place to develop "people skills". The benefits for full-time employees are fantastic.

    Cons

Compensation is minimum wage. Few full-time opportunities. You will not get rich working here.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Applications need reorganization, streamlining, and synching: it would help employees do a better job and maximize profit. Better and more thorough training is needed. With more full-time opportunities, employees could work off-season and mentor new hires in on-the-job software training and office protocol.
