I worked at HSN full-time (More than a year)

This was my first ever job at a call center. So, if you're looking to get your head in the door, this is a great place to start! A lot of other companies seek to find people with a minimum of 1yr, so if you can start here, you can move to a better paying company in the future. The salary isn't bad, it's much better then working minimum wage! However, there are other call centers within an hour of HSN that pay $13-$15, but with that in mind, other places that pay $9-$11. I started at 11.65 starting, now they are at 12 for CSR - Hybrids. I would say, it wasn't difficult to get a job here at all; just be friendly, upbeat, and look nice and you're fine. The interview questions were basic and were very few. The environment, in my experience has been friendly. No one that I can really recall that I didn't like or feel neutral towards. Lots of diversity~ Skinny/fat, tall/short, straight/gay, all races and all ages, etc. So you will feel comfortable. There is a cafeteria, that is now open 24/7 and a break room where you can watch tv, buy food, and store your food from home. You have a mandatory 30 min lunch and 2, 15min breaks. You can use this time to complain about the customers you've had :) Trust me, you will. There is PTO and Holidays~ You also get 2 days of paid community service. :) My supervisor is awesome and cares about us all. I really appreciate him a lot~ Some other people don't really care for their supervisors...I'd say avoid the day shift...anyone I've ever known to move from days to nights, dislikes their supervisor....the night ones are chill. Overall, it's a good company!

The nagging first world problems will get to you~ Man, ....do people complain about nonsense..."The color of the hosts' nails offend me!"....like really? Lotttsss of old people who: A. Can't hear you 'cause they are deaf B. Can't understand you, no matter how clear you are C. Can't be bothered to turn down their TVs so you can be heard/you can hear them D. Don't understand how credit cards work (they think card payments are the same as flexpay) E. Don't take no for an answer, when you TRULY can't do something F. Try to get free stuff for mistakes THEY made... There are customers that call all the time that have a bad reputation..we all know your name lady and we make fun of you. :) Look forward to the pervs that call. If a person calls in, with no name coming up and it is a male (or you can't tell what they are) wanting you to help them buy a bra/stilettos for someone...just wait for it to get weird.... Don't get me wrong, you will get a lot of neutral customers and some sweethearts here and there, but the rotten apples are realll rotten. You will have difficulty learning the website portion of this job at first, since the training for that is awful/useless. You will have to learn it on your way through trial and error and with help of supervisors. You will hate qualities(of your calls)...and the lack of consistency, is mind boggling.

    Advice to Management

You guys really need to give us reps, new computers. The time it takes to wait for our programs to load 'cause we're using 2005 desktops...that's not cool. Invest in us!
