I have been working at Halfords part-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

part time contracts which are offered are good, 25% staff discount, friendly, relaxed work environment, colleagues always willing to share knowledge with one another. Since Matt Davies became the CEO I have seen such positive changes, and he is making the company so much better to work for.

    Cons

limited over-time and flexible hours offered, managerial positions given to the wrong people who are not deserving!!!!! low pay considering what is expected of you. NPS is AWFUL!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I enjoy working at Halfords part-time, however I do feel that the managers which are chosen are not always a correct fit for the job. In my 3 years working for Halfords I have seen 3 store managers, 5 assistant managers and 6 duty managers, and the current assistant managers are the best I have ever come across. However, the people fulfilling positions of duty managers are the worst decisions which could have been made for the company. They have a bad image, are not setting a good example, and seem to have been chosen last minute as there was no one else available to do the job. They are dragging down the reputation and are the main reason I will ever consider leaving.
