Pros depend on whether you work for a corporate store or an individually owned franchise store. I have worked at both. Corporate stores off better discounts and pay generally but have a lot more structure and rules. The privately owned stores generally don't care much for their employees because they are interested in making profit instead of giving employees benefits.
Not many opportunities for raises. Most stores don't have a hierarchy in which case you can advance your title. If you are hired as a sales associate you tend to stay a sales associate until you quit.
Advice to Management
I have generally liked most of my managers but they even admit to not liking Hallmark as a company. It is discouraging when the people who are managing the stores even speak poorly about the company as a whole.
