I worked at Hamilton Company full-time (More than a year)
Decent pay. Good location. Decent Benefits.
Very toxic/hostile work environment in Operations. A LOT of distraction, especially from employees who have been employed there more than 20+ years. They act as though they cannot be replaced and are arrogant to many newer employees. Steve Hamilton is not a good man to work for. He is very unattached and old-school, apart of the "good ol' boy network" in Northern Nevada. Certain departments in Operations are very unprofessional, unethical, rude, and disloyal by spending a lot of their time chit-chatting, talking behind other employees/boss's backs, slander, gossip, disrupting, not listening, bragging and some trying to get other employees they do not agree with fired! Sad. Systems is very old / 1980's - managers do not care for employees overall unless they are related and/or have known each other more than 10 yrs. Many employees are related biologically and/or married in upper management and run the entire company. Steve Hamilton allows this, out of touch with reality and lets MANY good employees go if the other dinosaur (those employed more than 20 years) do not like them. I would NEVER recommend Hamilton to anyone - they have a VERY HIGH turnover rate and they do not care for their employees at all. Salaried employees treated as hourly - still on the clock - badge in and badge out. If you are more than 3 min's late - you are official dinged late and HR is aware of it. Very childish and Steve Hamilton trusts no one but himself and other dinosaur employees, managers. Much cursing in office area, very disrespectful and show their political opinion and put down those who are of different political persuasion. Not to mention foul-mouthed and more. VERY immature work environment and unorganized. Management tries to intimidate through fear tactics. Moral very low.
Advice to Management
Mature-up. Quit fraternizing with your subordinates. Listen to your employees, allow mercy and give proper training and listen, listen and listen more. Very unprofessional, unpolite, manipulation by fear does not work!
