I have been working at Harris full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Ability to move around the company and divisions for different opportunities and projects, 9/80 work schedule, mostly good people to work with, stable company to work for in my division, job security. Much needed change is coming. Had great benefits. Enjoy the shut down during the holidays.

    Cons

Much needed change is coming, but we're afraid the new executives don't have a lot of government experience and will mess up the government side of the company. Hopefully they'll succeed with on-boarding commercial/international contracts to expand the company since we haven't been very successful in that area in the past. They're cutting costs which has been needed in some areas, but we're afraid they won't know when to stop. Because of these cuts the rumor on the street is they're setting us up for sale. They're looking for process improvements but they also need to get rid of the dead weight employees from the old regime that impede processes and improvements. We're seeing folks jump over to Northrup since they have moved to town. Not sure if the grass is any greener there. Morale is down. The rest of us are waiting to have 9/80 taken away as it was taken from Sr. Mgmt. recently. This would be a step back in time vs allowing more flexibility and telecommuting like a lot of the more innovative companies are doing for their employees. Benefits have been cut and more are expected. Will not have a reason to stay long-term as hard working experienced employees get less and less for their loyalty.
