I worked at Harrison College full-time (more than an year)Pros
Dedicated teachers, decent compensation. The campus culture is usually pretty good - people working on the campus and interacting with students do genuinely care about their well-being and academic success.Cons
It is incredibly frustrating to deal with the disconnect between campus needs and corporate decisions.
There are basically no standards for admission. There's a test that students have to take, but it's multiple choice and you can pass by randomly guessing. Many students admitted are operating way below college or even high school standards of academics, which is a challenge for the teachers. Admission goals are set high and management is awful (the head of admissions screams and calls employees names) so reps are between a rock and a hard place.
They have been pursuing regional accreditation for years. It hasn't happened yet and I'd be incredibly surprised if it ever does.Advice to ManagementAdvice
