    I have been working at Hartz Mountain full-time


    Some poeple are nice and you can bring your pet to work. 401K is immediately vested and they practice summer hours. Great iconic brand with a solid consumer aweareness.


    Lack communication from Japanese senior management who seem to practice a caste system. Demeaning to females. Others are very cliquish. Still a significant amount of "lifers" here who need to go. It's not an age thing, many of these folks are resistant to change and are living in the old days... HR does nothing to build morale and at times does very petty, childish things undermining practices that direct managers put in place. Bonus and raises are non existant. Additionally, this is not a modern marketing company. They have no media budget and seem to change planned promotions on a whim. Bad backend and data systems (Lotus notes? really?) which require triple work to complete simple tasks. Training is non existant

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Clean house in HR. Open the purse strings and spend some funds on solid back end systems and upgrade to outlook for gods sake. Make some media buys to give your products a fighting chance. Salaries desperately need to be increased.
