Current Employee - Direct Care Counselor in Hauppauge, NY

I have been working at Head Injury Association full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

An opportunity to give back and make a difference.Good for students who wish to work in health and human services.

    Cons

The pay,the pay,the pay.Staff shortages are frequent, the company is slow to hire, waits until its critical Low level supervisors have a lot of responsibility,do the best they can.Lack of common sense in upper management. They move the clients around to suit their needs, not the clients needs. There is only 1 vision, that's the CEO's.who is not who you have listed here. The person listed here is the chairman of the board of directors..

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Start treating and paying your people what we are worth.Someone working for 10 years should not be making the same as someone who started yesterday.
