    I worked at HealthSmart full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

    Some great coworkers and you get paid after the first week of employment.

    Cons

    Growing too fast and not employing enough employees to keep up with the growth of the company. Management smiles in your face and feeds you lines while piling on the work. If you don't conform to the party in control because you just come to do your job and not join a political party, don't expect to be promoted for going above and beyond in your job duties unless you're part of the active political crowd. The benefit package is very expensive. Very much a reactive company, never proactive. Billing system is not user friendly at all and causes more issues than it should for providers. Management is too busy trying to shine than actually helping the flow of every day processes. They say they want to compete with the Blues and Uniteds, but this will never happen. The mindset and structure is not there. Also, to many legal issues between employees and the company. Avoid this company at all costs else you will regret it.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Create an environment that employees will want to work in. Stop killing the moral of the employees. Increase staff. Leave the office politics out. Find a less expensive medical plan. Create and document processes for training purposes. Gives raises yearly and not every two plus years. It's demeaning to your employees to know you are amusing 10 companies a year, but rarely give you a pay increase. Promote employees that put hard work in instead of hiring friends.
