Better than market total compensation.
There is little to no investment in the employee in terms of defined career development and path. Extremely limited upward mobility, especially in back office functions (IT, HR, Finance), which have become weak as a result of people sitting in the same positions for years (innovation and productivity killer). The executive management lacks diversity (in thought and many other ways) and has an arrogance in terms of how markets outside N.A. should work, but don't.
Advice to Management
As a very product driven business in a B2B business, it is easy to forget about career development in back office functions. The result of this lack of investment becomes a glaring weakness at some point and the organization as a whole does suffer. The executive management team needs a broader view of the world (that is geographic markets and the full spectrum of employees). Take off the blinders.
