I worked at Hennion and Walsh full-time (More than a year)
Well they'll sponsor you for your Series 7 & 63. Partners as well as upper management are knowledgable and successful in Muni Bonds. Office itself is very nice. They managed to create a classic 80's wall street designed office in a northern New Jersey town about 40 minutes away from NYC. Also, you'll manage to find some nice people that work there as well as a small percentage of employees that will actually give you the time of day. The office even comes equipped with a fully stocked bar that you'll be lucky enough to stock and/or clean one day. Also, if you're a beer lover (I know I am) you may be asked to go on a keg run on a Friday afternoon so upper management such as the Partners and V.P.s can start the weekend a bit early. You may be asking, "How does this help me train me to become a Financial Professional?" There's your first problem trainee (or dare I say Pledge?), you're not allowed to ask questions here at Hennion & Walsh under any circumstances, but all jokes aside they don't train you to be a "financial professional" in any sense, they train you to act like them so you can work in that office.
Boiler Room. Purposely degrade trainees as a part of seeing if they will "cut it". Training is pathetic. Nothing but cold calls and studying on your own without a textbook. Basically if you have no self respect this place is for you. A respected HR Director's worst nightmare.
