    I worked at Hewlett-Packard full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

    Since HP is such a large company, there are opportunities to move around to different roles and businesses where you can gain a huge variety of experience in different types of businesses.
     + lot's of opportunity to move around
     + some really experienced and capable people work at HP
     + co-workers often have good marketing and business acumen
     + some flexibility to work remote or virtual if you are working at a main site
     + salary is decent, not industry leading and not below average
     + nice work environment
     + not too many food perks so you won't gain weight due to overindulging at work

    Cons

    People often mired in slow progress due to the need to collaborate and tie off with an extensive amount of people spanning multiple business units, or functions and geographies.
     - slow moving decision making
     - unless you are working on mainstream products or initatives, projects and activities often get cancelled after much work has been put into it
     - management that is not steeped in that particular business don't appear to understand opportunities presented for decision making and can't add much value beyond providing funding
     - there are enough people that don't carry their weight or appear checked out that it causes fustration for other high performers
