I worked at Hobby Lobby full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Closed Sunday. That doesn't mean you don't work Sundays, just that there are no customers that day. Great pay for hourly staff and yearly blanket hourly raise.

    Cons

Consistently understaffed management corps causes extreme long hours. Deeply entrenched processes and procedures date from 1960s and 1970s.Unreasonable expectations from RGM and DM. RGM consistently sarcastic and condescending. No process for evaluation of hourly associates. Protects the incompetent and punishes the best associates.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Green family needs to be more aware of store level culture. It is not what they think. Associates do not share their concerns for fear of repercussions. Bring in outside consulting for blind surveys or you will never know what you are missing.
