I worked at Home Goods part-time (less than an year)

    Pros

I worked a lot at first, they were opening a store in my town and hired a ton of people to help with the opening. Then we all got laid off once the store opened. I enjoyed working there for the few months that I was employed, because for a minimum wage sales associate job, I figured this was as good as it was going to get.

    Cons

Got laid off. At the time, I was 19 years old and in college, so it was difficult. This was just a part-time summer job for me, so it didn't really matter, but for other people who were hoping this could be a full-time opportunity, I'm sure it was hard.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Figure out a way to keep employees after you open a store! I'm sure there must be some way you can hire less people up front, bring other team members from other stores, or let people know that this is a temp job. There must be something to do besides being so shady.
