Co workers are great. Staff is a combination of retired personnel and high school, college kids. We all help each other. The staff and the customers make it worth while to work at HG.
The customers are also wonderful. Most of them are so full of compliments that you feel proud to be associated for HG.Cons
This is retail, you must work a weekend day. You will work your butt off and for very little pay. You need to watch what you say. There are no raises, no/few promotions.Advice to ManagementAdvice
Although I believe management puts in a lot if time with training and bi-weekly staff meetings, and continuously emphasize customer service. Customer service is the key to their success, but management needs to demonstrate a little respect for their staff.
Mid level management is great, but they are worked harder than any other place I have worked. Once you are promoted to management, your life is not your own.
An atmosphere of fear quells any employee complaints. One negative comment can leave you without a job.
