I worked at Housing Authority of the City of Los Angeles

    Pros

The only positive things are job security and relatively high pay for work that is simple and doesn't require a college degree.

    Cons

The CEO/President is paid over $500K per year, which is about the highest of any public official in Los Angeles. And this is provide services to very low-income people.

The main union, AFSCME, is completely in the CEO's control.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The Housing Authority's Board of Commissioners should ask themselves why they think their CEO provides such a high value--and compare his salary to his peers.
