I have been working at Hulu full-time (Less than a year)

I came to Hulu about six months ago, and I have really enjoyed the company so far. The company is making some big bets with deals with Showtime and Epix, and the 'Commercial Free' plan we just launched has a lot of potential to dramatically grow our business. As a place to work, I think the culture of the company is a huge win. I've worked at previous companies that say they "have fun", but Hulu really does. Company activities and get-togethers are common, and actually involve people talking with each other, and not only about how far behind they are on their next project. The company is small enough that I get to know and work with people from different departments, and the overall energy of the office is very positive. More on the work side, despite the two major launches we've done since I've been with the company, I've been impressed with how *sane* most things have been. There's been time crunch and pressure, like anyplace, but I never saw the sense of overall exhaustion and near panic that precipitated major launches at previous companies. I have real work-life balance for the first time in eight years. (And by that, i mean an engaging and exciting job that leaves me enough time to do engaging and exciting things in my personal time. A job that isn't exciting and sometimes demanding isn't "balanced" with the kind of life I want, IMO.)

Honestly, I think one of the worst things about Hulu is that you're not here with us. We have a lot of other big ideas on how to improve our product and continue to redefine TV, but we just don't have enough people to make it all happen as fast as we want it to. We need more talented people to come join our company and help us build the future.

    Advice to Management

I've heard you all talk a lot about how important the culture and the team are to the success of the company, and I believe you mean it. Continue to treat the team as your most valuable asset. The people on the team are more valuable than the work they do. Get to know all of them, and don't lose touch.
