I have been working at Hy-Vee full-time (More than a year)

Hy-Vee has good benefits and a bonus program that allows both full and part time employees a bonus check. It is a staple in the midwest grocery market and draws a good following.

It is a large company and sometimes can seemingly take a long time to implement an obvious change. There seems to be a lack of desire to stand out from other stores based on the worry that it will fail, when it should worry about how well the local store will succeed.

    Advice to Management

Allow local stores to be more flexible and innovative and encourage local stores to brand themselves under the Hy-Vee Umbrella. Take for example Cosentino's Fresh Market in downtown KC, It is a price chopper by any other name but the branding is done such that you don't look at it any different from a whole foods or fresh market.
