    I worked at Hyatt

    Pros

Highly structured organization operationally, but career paths are self-driven
Good compensation, benefits, and associate resources (i.e. daycare, room discounts, etc)
Many professional development opportunities and HBR online learning programs
Some departments and leaders encourage career advancement
Working daily with lots of smart and talented people
Company culture of community involvement (Spirit to Serve)

    Cons

Like many large companies, politics influences decisions at the senior leadership level
Highly bureaucratic so it takes alot of time and many approvals to "get things done"
Promotions often based on senior leadership favorites instead of merit/performance
Work/life balance depends on the department
Inconsistent communications among departments makes it difficult to get to know people in other functional areas

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Develop a culture that values honesty and integrity, not politics
Find ways to become less bureaucratic so organization can run more efficiently

    No opinion of CEO
