I have been working at IBM full-time for more than 10 years

For new families, IBM offers a good work/life balance.

Management performs annual layoffs in most groups. LIttle or no training dollars. The experience you gain at IBM isn't going to be what most of the IT/SW industry needs right now - skills in Mobile and Cloud. IBM's key initiatives are, by-and-large, latecomers to a plethora of major competitors, including Amazon and Google. Add to that IBM's profits have been down for 8 quarters in a row.
