I worked at Independence Blue Cross full-time (More than 10 years)

The main building at 1901 Market has a gym and good cafeteria redesign...(the best 2 things the company has done since G. Fred DiBona passed away)

Too many contractors (Temps or contracted workers), lack of experienced and knowledgeable management, poor HR department (buddies up with management, not balanced), some areas of the company is lacking in quality employees with knowledge, missing accountability across the company, pass the buck mentality is rampant and some departments hire too many of their friends and not knowledge/experience.

    Advice to Management

Hire truly qualified people to represent your company, start weeding out department trouble makers, hold your managers accountable to the production of their units or lack of instead of giving them outs to keep them under the radar or being reprimanded, recognize people for their work done and not because how much crap they shovel at you...try and hurry the merger with Highmark maybe they can bring the company back to prominence so we can keep G. Fred DiBona from flipping and cursing from his grave!...R.I.P. Fred
