I worked at Intel Corporation (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Always very challenging work -- Environment is typically very intense. Its your responsibility to manage work/life balance. They have a lot of very smart people to work with who have very high expectations, but it challenges you to become a better person. I always felt like if there was an opportunity to make the process or situation better then you were empowered to make that improvement happen. You just may have to overcome some hurdles from different managers. They have done a better job of defining the decision makers though. If you like to drive projects/improvements and are data/results driven then this is the place for you. I learned a lot from the people I worked with over the years and I was afforded many different opportunities. It's enabled me to have a very successful career.

    Cons

The company has evolved from a work hard and have fun culture to just work hard. Much more focused on cost than in years past. It's more challenging to be successful if you aren't an engineer or have an "engineering mentality" It has become much more political over the last several years.
