I have been working at InterContinental Hotels Group full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Employee Room Rate Employee On boarding Meeting (learned a ton of cool stuff and they made you so excited about the co.) Benefits - although it's an HDHP, that HD doesn't kick in unless you need major care e.g. surgery Food & Employee Events

    Cons

They sell you a dream of what a great culture it is - be careful. It's a great culture if you're okay with not being able to do anything and working with people that spend their days in the cubicle farms talking about their next vacation. No decisions are made here - everything takes getting everyone's opinion and approval first which means nothing gets done. And when something goes wrong, you must go talk to everyone to find out why (but still can't do anything about it). They remind you every day that they are hospitality and care about people but these are the most passive aggressive employees I've ever worked with. Hospitable yes, to your face. Until you try to offer ideas to grow and change. They'll just tell you they don't work that way. Nobody is held accountable and you're scolded if you try to do it yourself. Also don't understand why the corporate office dresses like they work in a law office. It's hospitality remember - why so formally dressed and in a secure, badged environment?

    Advice to Management

You're selling a culture that doesn't really exist. You can't keep the really great talent unless you start to actually say "no" sometimes and hold people accountable.
