Current Employee - Software Engineer in Research Triangle Park, NC

I have been working at Interactive Intelligence full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Interactive Intelligence recently opened an office in Research Triangle Park with a really amazing team that I learn from everyday. On top of this, they provide great support for their developers that I have only read about for smaller companies - top of the line laptops (your choice of platform), multiple displays, and the choice of sitting or standing desks.

The office also includes a small gym, showers, and has a wonderful 1.5 mile sidewalk loop outside for runs.

InIn is also open to sending its engineers out to conferences for education about the latest techniques in the technology industry.

The RTP office is a lot like they sell it to potential hires - the experience of a start-up culture with the resources of a large company.

    Cons

The benefits for employees in the RTP office could be better compared to other companies in the area. A lot of the benefits they list on their website is only for the Indy HQ office (e.g. on site health clinic and cafe). This con is most certainly due to the youth of the new office and how small the current team is.

A lot of the internal infrastructure of the company is based on Microsoft technologies. This can be great sometimes, but getting support for non-Windows platforms can sometimes be a problem.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Continue to be open about the evolving technology industry. Try to recruit top talent from different areas of the country - we have interesting enough projects and culture to pull them in.
