I have been working at Intermountain Healthcare full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Easy access by train. Low key work environment. Employee discounts to a lot of local establishments. Feel like you're helping people.

    Cons

Was offered a job at another department with a promotion. My supervisor and his boss thwarted it from happening by forcing hr to drop the level of the position and low-ball the salary. They care less about their employees and more about their bottom line (if the CEO of a non-profit makes more than 1 million it makes you question why we have non-profits?)

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop promoting people based on how long they've been there and start promoting the quality of work. You're encouraging loafers to stay and talent to leave.

Also, stop encouraging a fear-based organization. We need to stop doing things that are against industry best practice because so and so on the 24th floor wants it done that way. Grow a spine and do things the right way.

    Disapproves of CEO
