I worked at International School Louisiana full-time for more than a year

Academically successful charter school offering Spanish and French Immersion for students from Kindergarter to eighth grade. Enrichment classes include circus arts (only at Camp Street) and karate.

There is an inner circle of long-term employees whose jobs have outgrown their abilities. Newcomers (and there are a LOT of those) are not trusted and are kept out of discussions where they should be represented. There have been three directors of Finance and two of Development since June 2012. One clerical position has had three incumbents in that same time. It seems that top management does not care who stays or goes - employees are just interchangeable cogs in the wheel. Compensation is mediocre except for those at the very top. There are few professional development opportunities for non-academic employees. Continued growth is planned without building a competent, adequate support system.

    Neutral Outlook
