Tremendous sales opportunity that was very lucrative!

Former Employee - Account Executive in Portland, OR

I worked at International Sports Management full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

Interview process was in depth and was very two sided with my questions being welcomed by both interviewers. And more importantly, the answers coincided!

They were very flexible with accommodating a previously planned vacation that I was able to discuss in the interview process. Many other prospective employers excluded me because of this.

Training was to the point and explicit in sales methodology, lead management, and closing. Learned how to use Salesforce. Received additional training throughout my tenure.

I made my first sale within my first week and became a Senior Account Executive within two months. (Made over $9K in commission on top of base in that time.)

Also, I won a number of incentives not just for sales but for other daily contests. Saw many others too- they really want to make competitive and still have fun.

Others around me made sales too- I've read some of the negative reviews and it sounds like sour grapes from someone who was no good. I was never asked to lie and in fact, was told not to give false information. Really do not know where some of the reviews I've seen are coming from. If you want to sell and have the ability, the product is great and they pay as promised! It's a sales job- if you're there to make a "good base" and can't sell- don't go into sales period!

    Cons

Management does not condone unexpected absences. Due to some extenuating circumstances, I had to miss work on 5 separate occasions in the first two months and was warned twice before being told I could not miss any more work. I had to quit because of that. Still a good relationship with my former manager. Would still be there if I could.

No flex time- it is scheduled office hours.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Would like a more liberal policy with work from home options. This wouldn't be for everyone but some might be able to do it.
