I have been working at Island Hospitality full-time (more than 10 years)

I've worked for Island Hospitality for over a decade and can say that they do a great job of taking care of their employees. The pay is very market appropriate and bonuses are very achievable. Senior leadership members actually take the time to call just to see how you're doing if they haven't heard from you in a while. They make you feel like a valued employee rather than just a cog in the machine. Our leadership team has very reasonable expectations, which to some may seem extreme, but in fact they are pretty basic. They want you to know your market and have a good understanding of your mix of business. They expect at least brand average service scores. They expect GM’s to take good care of their associates. Overall expectation is a balanced scorecard.

If you do well at your job there is lots of opportunity for advancement. There are several of my employees currently enrolled into our Pathways of Leadership Program in which hourly associates work towards getting signed off on a manager in training checklist. In the last year two of my hourly associates have been promoted into entry level management positions. If you are able to relocate you're able to advance a bit quicker.

There have been times where management has been slow to get back to me on an urgent matter which is frustrating.
