    I worked at Islands Restaurants part-time (more than 3 years)


    Very fast paced environment that allows for growth and advancement to higher positions if desired. Tips are a plus though they are different at each location. Perfect for a college student that needs a job to be scheduled around a school schedule.


    Management is constantly changing. Over 4 GMs in 4 years and over 10 Assistant manager changes within that time. Each manager implements different ways of running the store which leaves the employees in confusion and trying to learn the new rules every time management changes. No constant/stable work culture. Upper management micromanages everything. If you aren't selling liquor then you aren't considered a good employee at islands.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    I understand alcohol has a high profit margin but it's not always the servers fault if customers are not wanting to throw a couple drinks back in front of their kids at dinner. Stop changing management so much. Find ways to motivate employees and recognize them for their hard work and not just by their alcohol sales.
